The sun was shining today, so we went out photo hunting again. Well, we went to the playground park (which is not one of the best places for foliage), and Geoff spent time with Babe while I wandered around taking pics.
Here are the results:

That last shot... there's a story in there. I see two people, both men, I think, twisting out of the tree, trying to escape. I also could see it as Jesus on the cross when he loses faith... But, whether there's a story or not, it's a really cool tree (although the other side of it is even gnarlier).
Next post will be a few shots I took after getting home. The sun had just emerged from a small raincloud, and was lighting up the trees most wonderfully with it's afternoon warmth. Mmmmmm...

Date: 2007-10-20 11:34 pm (UTC)I went out for a walk today too but a bit too late for really nice sunshiny pics. October is such a beautiful time of the year though - when it's dry!

Date: 2007-10-21 01:21 am (UTC)I like October even when it rains. It is so hard to capture on film, but sometimes it seems that the trees glow even more potently when it's gloomy out. But then, I don't think it rains here as much as it does there. :D

Date: 2007-10-21 10:42 am (UTC)Have you ever seen the art of Andy Goldsworthy? Irecommend his book "Time". He makes art out of entirely natural materials and then photographs it as it changes/deteriorates over time. Fascinating and beautiful. Your photos remind me of his eye for colour.

Date: 2007-10-24 04:05 am (UTC)Well, don't envy me too much. The climate and vegetation may be perfect for beautiful, stunning falls, but for 40 weeks out of the year, it's perfectly miserable. ( 6 weeks of wonderful fall, 2 weeks of spring after the rains and before allergies get too bad, 2 weeks (not consecutive) of lovely summer in between god-awful humid heat and 2 weeks of winter when the snow has fallen, covering the gray landscape and making it sparkle.)
No, I haven't, though his name is very familiar. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
