Time spent on exchange fic today: 0 minutes
Time spent on doing prints: 0 minutes
Time spent making chair slip cover: 0 minutes
Time spent cuddling Babe: 7 minutes
Time spent cleaning kitchen: 8 bloody long hours.
And that's only the outside bits. Excluding floor. However, that does mean that the cupboard doors are clean(ish), the counters are very clean, the sink is (mostly) clean, it is more organized looking, the plant on the microwave has been pruned back into submission and the stove is clean. Oh, and the walls. I hate scrubbing walls. I forgot how much I hate scrubbing walls.
Yet to do:
clean fridge - tonight - as it is absolutely disgusting and trash pick-up is tomorrow am.
scrub floor (ohgodohgodohgod, why me?)
go through and organize and clean cupboard innards (that can wait until after all the baking is done, giving me a two week reprieve)
Clean and organize top of fridge (this also can wait until after baking is done, so I can store the stand mixer up there)
Of course, to finish the kitchen, I also need to cut and attach the trim for the island top, install side wall of corner cupboard, hide the chainsawed edge with trim (which needs to be painted as well), varnish island top with at least three coats poly (which needs to set for a month before using top again, so it can wait until just before we leave for Canada) and lay a new floor.
No, seriously. The floor has to go. At this point I'm tempted to throw paint over it just to improve the appearance. And make it more cleanable. It is horrible. Maybe not so horrible as the vinyl floors of the late sixties, early seventies, even if it looks worn enough to be from that era, but horrible enough to make it seem uttelry pointless in cleaning it as it looks just as dirty when you finish as when you started. It is horrible.
But... looking at the clock, I see my ten minutes has more than gone. Need to start supper now.
