Scary

Does anyone else find the (American) headlines lately to be more than a little disturbing? From the Senate passing the wiretapping bill to the court favoring the CIA's suppression of information in the Plame book to the insurance companies winning the appeal over the Katrina mess... etc.

To me it feels like we've finally stepped across the midway point and have decided to embrace being a fascist state.

Does it seem like that to anyone else or am I just being paranoid?

I cant decide whether artpad is really cool, or really frustratingly idiotic. I like this result, so I'm leaning more towards "cool" at the moment, though. :-)

I'm not submitting this to snapeartcontest because a) I'm not a friend of the community, and they have a spoiler policy in effect blocking such non-friend posts, and b) it isn't really relevant to the current contest. Besides, it was more for my own amusement than anything.
