Oct. 23rd, 2007 12:16 pmLast night was the worst night's sleep in a long time. It was truly horrible, especially as I was exhausted after a long day of work. Perhaps I got overtired, or perhaps the temperature really was to blame (too hot with just window open, too cold with fan on), but I had a dream filled night, with the starting dream being a textbook anxiety dream, complete with public nudity. It was bad enough that I woke up from it.
I woke up several other times, and had trouble falling asleep again each time. As the insomniacs among you know, it was awful.
My last dream of the night was a very odd mix including The Scarlett Letter (Hester was the main character, and had a fabulous sense of humor about the whole affair), pirates (of the Francis Drake variety, not PotC kind), the Catholic Church and its doctrine, and a big, bloody battle. Obviously, there were many, many mixed metaphors.
Yesterday was a full day. I was a veritable domestic goddess, doing 6 loads of laundry, cleaning out the bathroom (including scrubbing the tub), cleaning bedrooms, tidying living room AND managing to make a decent supper (before 9 pm).
Many of you are probably thinking, "Yeah? So what?" But this is a hell of a lot for me. This is more than I have done in months. Though probably not cummulatively.
So I was tired last night. Tired enough to go to bed at Geoff's bedtime. Then lack of sleep happened.
Fortunately, both Geoff and Babe let me sleep in for an hour this morning. Fortunately, I had planned on a pretty easy day today (finishing up the laundry (last load is in the dryer now), writing exchange fic and sketching). Fortunately, after the hot, hot shower I had first thing this morning, all my stiffness faded away and I feel surprisingly decent. Fortunately, Babe seems content amusing himself, so far.
So, I'm hoping that it will be a productive day. Time is growing short for everything, but if I keep it up, I may just get everything done.
But, oh! I want to paint!
