Signs

A week or so ago, I was talking to someone about Reiki. She's learning it and is completely fascinated by it. From what she says, it sounds like it would be right up my alley. In fact, it sounds an awful lot like what I used to be able to do intuitively, although I called it "psychic healing" for lack of a better name.

Anyway, in a lot of ways, it's very much like Somato Emotional Release, which is one part of the healing process I went through with the osteopath back in December. Very cool stuff dealing with body memory and energy.

So anyway, I listened to what this person was saying, and it appealed to me, but then, when I thought, "I should look into learning Reiki," I got shivers. You know, the goosebumps that tell you when something is right.

The more I thought about it, the more sense it makes. It's something that will only help me on my new path.

So anyway, this morning I was driving Babe to preschool and thinking about the future, and I saw three vanity plates. Now, New Hampshire has a lot of vanity plates. I'd say it's about one in every four or five cars. But on that drive I only saw two:

W8N4U
GO4IT

Later, as I was driving back to pick Babe up, and thinking on the plates, I wondered if the plates had anything to do with the Reiki conversation. Just after I thought that, I saw this plate:

VIBEGUY

Funny, eh?

So, after we get back from Colorado, I'm going to look into doing and learning Reiki. (This is something I had decided before today, btw.) And then this fall, I'm going to take biology. See if I like it enough to seriously consider going after that D.O.

Songs

I have an odd mix of songs running through my head. A Space Oddity (Bowie) has been on the radio quite a lot lately, and it segues surprisingly neatly into Ragdoll (Aerosmith) which I happened upon tonight. At least they blend together neatly in my head. ;-)

[livejournal.com profile] maebynot recently posted about five songs she can't listen to, and since reading her post, I've been trying to compile my list of five songs that I just cannot stand. I figured I'd confine it to the genre(s) I normally listen to on the radio, as there are way too many songs in pop, jazz and punk that are annoying enough to make me consider violent acts. (Note: There are many songs in pop, jazz and punk that I do enjoy. And I'm greatly oversimplifying the genres, btw.)

I still haven't come up with a complete list, but here goes what I have come up with:

I know there are others, but I can't think of them right now. And no wonder. It's past my bedtime.
