small grievances

It's pretty funny when the answer is "I don't know" and he responds by yelling, "YES YOU DO!!!" But otherwise it just grates on my tired nerves.
The bad thing about preschool that I've noticed so far (this was true for summer camp as well) is that he suddenly thinks that I am the sole source of entertainment. Yes, he can play by himself, but he needs me to oversee everything.
The poor boy expects me to play his game every time. An example of one of his games?
"Say, 'I hear the mail man coming.' Say that, Momma, say it!"
"Say, 'I think the mail man is here.' Say that, Momma, say it!"
"Say, 'I think the mail man is leaving me mail.' Say it, Momma, say it!"
"Say, 'Oh no, I think the mail man is leaving.' Say it, Momma. SAY IT!!!"
Etc.
Improvising is not allowed. Nor is logic. Needless to say, it gets old very, very quickly.
I know he just wants my attention, but, well, I hate having how my attention is given being dictated. I hate it. I love him, but when I am so tired, I wish he would be content to just snuggle up to me or something.
But, at the same time, he made me laugh today due to the literalness that is a 3-year-old's brain. He slapped me on the stomach, laughed and said, "Isn't that a funny joke?"
It took me a while, but after a bit of back and forth about hitting not being funny, and certainly not a joke, I said, "If that was a joke, where was the punchline?"
Dur.
