So, I'm still looking around at kitchen sinks. Right now I'm reasonably content to keep our crappy stainless steel double bowl, but I keep looking aruond, seeing if they have anything out there (for under $600) that might be better.

So, I'm wondering, what do you like in a kitchen sink?

We got a one and a half (one big, one small) when we put a new kitchen in. It's so useful to be able to pour things away or rinse things in the little one while you've got washing up in the other sink. And we've got a cullender/strainer that fits the little sink so pasta for six is easy to strain!

What is the most important aspect of a kitchen sink?

Just try to make it so the lip of the kitchen sink is lower than the surrounding countertop. Otherwise, if even a little puddle of water escapes the sink, you'll have a devil of a time getting it down the drain. The sink that was there when I moved in to my flat wasn't very deep, but it was lower than the countertops. The new one is bigger and deeper, and its edge sits on top of the tile. I have learned to wear shabby shirts when I wash dishes, because the always get drenched.
