*sigh*

I think I'm going to have to bow out of Snape Big Bang. I have developed an aversion to writing fanfic of late, and I don't see that clearing up within the next month.

What I am wibbling on is whether to make another attempt at the art portion of the Big Bang. I do still have a couple of fanart pieces on the board... one I'm not working on because Geoff's laptop (and my access to photoshop) died (sorry, Shug) and others because I just haven't been drawing lately. That should change once Babe starts preschool week after next, but...

Do I have time? To come up with an idea and implement it to my reasonable satisfaction? I would want it to be really good, and, well, I'm starting to think that's not possible.

*sigh*

Anyway, Babe and laundry beckon...

Sue Berryhill of Garland observed the event from a distance while holding a sign that said, “Government stay out of my health care and my life.” Berryhill was the lone counter-protester, a fact she attributed to people being unable to attend because they were working.

“It would be a disaster,” Berryhill said of the latest health care reform proposals working their way through Congress. “We need insurance reform, but we don’t need a government takeover.”

At one point, one of the people involved in the main event approached Berryhill while she was being interviewed by a reporter and asked whether she was on Medicare. Berryhill had “Veteran” registration plates on her vehicle.

“Yes, I am. So what?” responded Berryhill heatedly. “I paid into Medicaid for years.” Asked whether she had government-provided coverage, Berryhill said she did but argued that it wasn’t relevant.

“My husband was in the military for 20 years,” she said. “That is a debt to our servicemen. That is not socialized health care.”

That includes you non-fandom writers! Yes, you.

Want a writing date? Here's a comm for you!

A friend of a friend and that friend started a writing support club of sorts. It's called [livejournal.com profile] writingbuds and its goal is to let us writers know when others are writing so that we have (silent) companionship and comrades in arms (hands/fingers) doing the same thing at the same time. No one needs to know what you've written or even if you've succeeded in writing. It is just there so that you know that there are others suffering the art of writing words.

A different friend hosted something very similar earlier this week, and I found it tremendously helpful, so I have joined up.

Hope to see you there!
