Because without them, I fritter away time and energy.

This is not the Gantt chart you are looking for )

It's finally stopped raining, which is nice. It's supposed to be warm and sunny for the next ten days, which is even nicer. I hope that will encourage my zucchini plant to produce fruit, because I want more zucchini, damn it!

However, it looks like one of the reasons I don't have more zucchini (and perhaps why I didn't get ANY cabbage) was because slugs have invaded. Ick. So I need to get a beer from someone and tempt them away.

The bright side to all this rain is that most of my transplanted plants seem to be thriving. The ferns I put in first (under the arbor) have at least two new fronds each. My hostas are pretty sad looking, but I think that might just be because they're thinking it's the end of the season for them (it is getting late). I'll need to take a picture before they yellow out completely.

As for me, on Wednesday I thought I had caught the virus Page had last week, but if I did, I was able to shake it off much faster. I dosed myself with a fair amount of vitamin C and several drops of oil of oregano (a powerful anti-viral) and drank probably close to 4 liters of fluids, half of which was herbal teas. By the end of the day I was almost hydrated. o_0 When I went to bed, I gargled Listerine (in case there's any bacterial component to the sore throat), took as many pain drugs as I was comfortable with and knew the minute the tylenol started working, as suddenly I was much happier and more relaxed.

The regimen seemed to work as I woke up yesterday morning feeling MUCH better, and my sore throat is now only a slight nuisance.

Yesterday afternoon Geoff got back from his business trip, and has now been asleep for about 12 hours. He got a whopping 3 hours yesterday. :-( But I told him last night that when he goes into work today, he has to ask for a raise. I'm sure he'll be able to get a laugh out of that (assuming the boss hasn't already heard it five million times already...). However, if the bill does pass, I'm hopeful there will be a raise in the near future. Hopefully a decent one.

Aaaaaannnnnnd.... that's about it.
