So, after struggling, really, really, really ridiculously hard to figure out a simple, simple task, I managed to complete it and then found, once my mind was freed up to notice, that my leg was hurting something fierce (damn stairs). Like, bad enough to make me feel sick to my stomach. So, I took a handful of painkillers (which I've been avoiding doing lately) and lay down on the couch with my cuddly accounting book.
Two hours later, I woke up to the sounds of ghastly battles on the computer. Page was watching nasty videos of lego wars, lego zombie attacks and such. I told him his screen time was up, then fell back asleep. Woke up an hour later to more disturbing sounds and told him, in a much more wakeful and authoritative tone, to shut it off and call his dad home. Which he did.
Needless to say, I didn't get any reading in during my nap. Which is kinda bad, seeing as there's a quiz tomorrow. And I haven't yet read the chapter.
I blame the pain and the brain deddedness on a lurking cold. And maybe that damned body-memory.
On the plus side, I didn't have any bit of a headache today. One year ago today I did have a wee nip of brain-swelling-caused headache, and that was a bad, bad thing. I'm still dealing with that whole experience emotionally. However, I am healthier that I ever have been (maybe with the exception of 1999), doing more than I've ever done and feeling better overall doing it. Hell, I've even made my bed the last three days in a row!
And there may no longer be cocoa in my life, but there is soup and stew, both of which are so wonderful on dreary rainy days. So yay!
