Nov. 21st, 2012 03:41 pmGeoff persuaded me to go to the doctor yesterday, as I went to bed feeling... well, in pain, and woke up in the same state. So I did, and while my strep test was negative, I got antibiotics all the same. Which I'm happy about. My system is stressin' big time, and what with the strep-filled household, I would be sure to continue the cycle if I weren't on them.
Page has been really quite ill with this bout of strep. Yesterday he was burning up for most of the day. He was also sleeping most of the day. Today, while he is much, much better, he's still pretty wan and sickly. And he's in the unfortunate position of feeling like he's all better, because the difference is so obvious, but not well enough to be able to go out. There was tantrum about that earlier, as I had told him yesterday that if he was well enough, we could go to the store for more legos (using his money) today. He was pretty heartbroken that he'll have to wait till Monday (because I'm not even going to venture near the mall this weekend!).
Meanwhile, there's this four or five day weekend happening now. For this I am truly thankful. There might actually be enough time for me to do my homework, do some cooking, do some art AND sleep till I feel better. Though, I'm giving sleep the priority and if the rest doesn't happen, then tough noogies.
I am also thankful that I don't have to cook Thanksgiving dinner. The church is holding another community dinner, so for the price of some roasted sweet potatoes and a 5lb. sack of russets, we get to gorge to our heart's content. Without the fuss. Granted, we will of course help clean up. Yeah. Definitely looking forward to that.
But now I need to go watch a movie with Page. So Happy Thanksgiving, ya'll.
