What, you mean it isn't the 25th yet? Christmas must have come early, then, because these are wonderful, wonderful headlines!


First, the happiest news of them all, the scary, Dumbass Act, otherwise known as the Patriot Act is probably going to expi-ire! (/sing-song voice) Woohoo! Civil Rights Activists everywhere (within the USA) celebrate! Okay, maybe it's a bit soon for celebration, because it doesn't expire for another two weeks, and the wind could shift, but for the moment it sure looks hopeful that we might get our constitutionally guaranteed (hah!) civil rights back again!

Next up, the regional director to the Republican National Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee in these parts was found guilty of vote-blocking in the 2002 election. I really shouldn't be happy about this, I know. It's poor sportsmanship and definitely not taking the higher road, but all I want to do is say: "Neener neener neener! Loser!"

It frustrates me that the Republican Party has been indicted and convicted of fraud, scams and other scuzzy crimes against the public, and they still have the temerity to claim they are the moral choice! For God's sake, what morals are you talking about? They claim to be the ones who are there to uphold the decency of Christian morals, and yet, they spout hate about anyone and everyone who doesn't conform to their views? I think even Jesus would be saying "WTF". That's not even going into the greed issue.

Bah! (And no, this does not apply to all Republicans. I know there are honest, fiscally responsible, morally upright Republican representatives out there - somewhere. I choose to believe they're just in hiding right now to avoid persecution by their brethren in power.)

But the third headline makes up for any childishness on my part over the second. *ironic smirk* It seems scientists have finally found the mutation that caused white skin. Yep, that's right. It is now proven that we whiteys are mutants. We are the anomalies. (Yes, I'm willfully ignoring everything about evolution that I know and respect when I say that, because it's just so much FUN! Hee hee!)

All that Aryan bullshit really is just another form of penis envy. (And I won't get into the misguided misogyny of Freud's theory right now, as it would be a killjoy, and defeat my point completely.) Of course, the same people who believe in White Supremecy probably also believe that Intelligent Design and Evolution are mutually exclusive, and that Evolution is just a load of malarky. But at least the rest of us can point to them and say with confidence that they are ignoramuses to the nth degree, with empirical evidence to support us.

Boy, childish, destructive and completely counterproductive as it is, name-calling is kinda fun, isn't it?

Right. Now I have to figure out how to protect Granger. She's becoming a right nuisance, she is! The worst part is, she hasn't recognized a single thing I've done for her. I don't think she even knows she's in danger.

Then again, I'm not sure she's fully recovered. She looks as if she hasn't slept in a week, and her face seems even thinner. I'm beginning to get concerned. I haven't a clue why, though.

Well, as it turns out there's a pretty long waiting list on that particular super power (I think I'm #59368, and I applied in 1994!), so it's best not to get your hopes up in that regard. However, Magneto might be happy to have some blinding legs in his corner. =)
