Holy pisser, Batman!

There's advancement on the potty front! Whee! We'll see if this is the beginning of the end of diapers or just a fluke, but, OMG! If I get three things from my improbable Christmas lists, I am going to be one helluva lucky girl! (My mum gave me a book on childhood trauma that is, basically, a road map for parenting, and then, after visiting the bodyworker one last time before leaving for home (working towards fulfilling yet another wish), we went out and got haircuts and brow waxes. She knows a really good hairstylist in Vancouver, and this is the second time I've looked in the mirror immediately after he's finished and been unsure, but three days later, I'm in love with the hair cut. It's flirty and fun and, with my brows done, it even makes me feel beautiful.)

Anyway, Babe started talking about his "potty car," (the one we got for him during the summer when we were more actively encouraging potty training and trying to bribe him) and Geoff explained that he could only play with it after he'd used the potty successfully. Babe got the familiar resigned look, then sighed and said glumly, "o-tay," and stomped off - to the bathroom! And then he proceeded to use the loo (with nominal help)!

When asked, he said that he won't use the potty again, but I can't help feeling hopeful that this is a sign of change to come.

Again, I say, Whee!

heh-heh! are you sure Babe isn't a Slytherin? he knows he gets a fab toy for using the potty, so now he's waiting for you to bring home another tempting toy for his next "performance" on the potty? hmm.... what if you let him around without diapers and tell him to not pee on the floors or carpets...

Oh, I'm sure he's a little Slytherin, but that doesn't mean I'm going to let him get away with it! Unfortunately, the weather is a bit too cool for letting him run around in the buff, but I do have a plan...
