And because I feel like it, here's the seven habits/quirks meme, only one of them has a photo to show just how 'interesting' a trait it is...
List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself (that aren't common knowledge)
1. I oil my face. With safflower oil. =) I have really, absurdly dry and sensitive skin. I can't use soap and I certainly can't use commercial moisturizers because they all result in a nasty red rash that makes me look like an battered wife. So... recently I read somewhere about safflower and olive oils being good for the skin, so... I scrub my face with a wet washcloth and oil it before the water's evaporated completely. So far (a couple months in), my skin looks better than it has since high school. And I only get the occasional zit if I skip a scrubbing, which tea tree oil will usually clear up in a trice.
2. I like collecting rocks. I have and will pay money for interesting rocks. I will also happily snaffle little interesting or pretty pebbles from the beach/path/field/wherever. Because of this, I often walk around looking down.
3. As much as I love it, I rarely listen to music. And when I do listen to music, I have to listen to it at a lowish volume. Anything loud makes me anxious. (unless painting, wherein all bets are off.)
4. (This one is pretty common knowledge, but...) I often can't access my vocabulary when speaking. And not just the high-falutin' words, either. I communicate far better by keyboard than by mouth. It's one reason I'm phone-phobic.
5. I took a week long (or was it two weeks?) vow of silence after high school in an attempt to figure out my verbal communication problems. I found I couldn't hold to it because I needed to say "thank you." A nod just didn't suffice.
6. Some people habitually crack their knuckles; I crack my neck. It sounds infinitely worse.
