Accomplished
Feb. 15th, 2008 04:52 pmThis week I have managed to:
do a minor reorganization of the basement (move bookcase back into 'office', refill bookcase from office closet to make room for the crap that's been on the shelf in the family room, move stuff from shelf into closet, put up one set of shelves before the drill's battery died (5 minutes! It had been charging for three days and I get a lousy five minues?!) and I ran out of brackets, moved the binders full of Magic cards underneath newly installed shelves, games and puzzles above and tidied up. Oh, and tilexed the black spot only to punch through the drywall as I was wiping up and discovered the source of ickiness. So far have not done anything beyond removing affected drywall and putting down a cup to catch the drips, though.)
get Geoff to go to the chiropractor after he wrenched his back out last Saturday when he slipped in the icy snow dike that makes up our front yard.
keep us in bread, despite running out of wheat flour on the first batch (used buckwheat to finish it off) which, for the second batch necessitated
grocery shopping. Weather's been nasty lately, so this was an accomplishment.
NOT go floor shopping. (The weather helped with this one, but there was also the continued lack of checks. If the flooring supplies don't last, then it obviously isn't meant to be. Perhaps it would be best if the supplies aren't there, because then we could put the money to use by doing the island/table which will cost about the same as the floor and make room in the living room for, you know, living room furniture. Not to mention keep crumbs in the kitchen, making the living room much neater.)
go to doctor about blood sugar thingy
schedule an appointment with the allergist
finally, finally get that damn echo scheduled!
spend awake time with Geoff.
write the first bit of our story which resulted in writing something almost every day this week! Go me!
keep living room more or less tidy (and got Babe to help us pick up his toys!)
demolish carton of ice cream Eat a bit better Remember to eat
pay bills
water plants
plan kitchen remodel even more thoroughly, coming up with prospective (although optimistic) timetable of how to go about doing it, and how to reuse current cabinets to their fullest which resulted in the surprising
change of plans for use of office space, deciding it would be better as workshop/studio. (When island/table is installed, the current dining room table will Go Away leaving space in living room for more seating AND the computer (which means I'll continue getting more light with less frozeness without the detractor of being In The Way). Current kitchen cabinets will go along one office wall for instant organizing power and long counterspace for power tool use (incentive to get compound miter saw, which would be good for making canvas frames among other things) and painting/staining room. Still leaving much of office free for verticle art storage, other storage and floor space for whatever!) Whee!
anything else?
Laundry! Without running out of clothes first! (Ran out of washcloths, but they don't count, do they?)
However, I still need to:
plant sprouting bulbs
put up mini shelves
finish coffee table
make at least one "real" meal (I have realized that I do NOT like cooking. It always puts me into a bad mood. That is not good.)
go to pot luck party tomorrow evening (which means I have to make something...)

Date: 2008-02-16 04:41 am (UTC)Thanks! I'm hopeful, even if not happy. The thought of regular shots for years to come is not appealing in the least, though if it makes it possible to do stuff, it could be worth it. ;-)

Date: 2008-02-16 02:25 pm (UTC)...zilch, nada, nothing.
I am looking forward to when #2 is older and I hopefully have more energy!
Well, I have at least managed to keep us fed, if not very inspiringly, hang up some washing (though not put away the clean clothes or finish the ironing), go to the doc's twice, do the griovery shopping, write a short story, and whinge on LJ. Ah, well. One day, things will get better.
Your reorganisation plans sound very good. They remind me to ring the plumber to book some work that needs doing here.
