Vacation is winding down...

So much so that I actually stopped reading a book because it was a waste of time and energy. I'm afraid that I cannot recommend the Jack Frost series (by Rodney Whitehouse(?)). The plots are interesting, but the characterizations are so misogynistic that I was getting really pissed off. Plus I was glad when the protagonist was shot. Never a good sign in a book.
I am interested to see the television series, however. I can see it being much more fun on screen (especially if the misogyny is toned down for mass public consumption)
Vacation is going really, really well, though. I will be glad to be back in my own home, if only for the privacy afforded, but it's been absolutely great to see everyone and be in a familiar landscape. I had forgotten just how important a horizon is to me. There isn't one in New England really, unless you go to the seashore, which may indeed be one of the reasons I like the seashore so much.
When I actually get home I will write up a long, no doubt boring, "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" piece and include lots of photos. Because I have lots of photos. Because I love my new camera. I especially love the macro feature. Love love love.
But now I'm off to the Children's Museum in the hopes that it will amuse Babe enough to take his mind off of his homesickness. Plus it's supposed to be one of the best C.M.s in the country. Who knew?
Cheers!
