Kitchen stuff
Sep. 1st, 2008 10:24 amYesterday's task was to get the top layer of floor up, and, thankfully, we managed to complete it. The most time consuming part was getting the nails up after Geoff had torn out the old floor. About a third of the nail heads decided to pop off, which meant that we had a good thirty to fifty nails to pull up via vice-grips. Could have been worse.
I need to take a picture of the beautiful floor that was underneath the top layer. Very seventies. It'll be a pleasure to cover up.
Today I go and get the rest of the flooring (we picked up half of it yesterday, which was all that would fit in our poor car), while Geoff does some wiring and laundry. Not at the same time, however. I had hoped to get all the laundry done yesterday, and, well, thought I had managed it, but then Babe had another accident, so...
Ach well.
And it's important to get the laundry done before the wiring gets started as at least one of the kitchen breakers is on the laundry line. Go figure.
Kind of scatterbrained today, but at least we don't have any major, physically intensive tasks ahead of us today. That we know of. And it looks like we will actually be able to complete everything for cabinet installation starting Wednesday. Whee!
