Progress? What's that?

averygoodun42Thanks to the doctor's recommendation of not filling the antibiotic prescription she gave me, but just taking a benadryl every four hours, I have been worse than useless today. I say worse because I wanted to go measure the stove in a neighboring town (half an hour away) that looked promising (but was disappointing), but I was starting to feel the benadryl woozies by the time I was ready to go, so Geoff drove us.
Meaning he wasn't here to do the wiring. Or prepare for the flooring. Or anything. Granted, he probably would have spent most of the time telecommuting, but hey, he couldn't even do that.
So, as the kitchen stands, we've moved the cabinets over 3/4" to make room for whatever range, we have the floor planks on the island top - which will be the cutting center - the floor prepped and ready to be covered and plastic wrap covering the other rooms from being coated in sawdust created by the circular saw. Because using the saw outside would not be a good idea, what with Hanna having arrived.
I hope the neighbors left their sump pump on. Perhaps I'll send Geoff over to check on that before we go to bed. I do not want to wake up to find two inches of water in the basement. That is definitely NOT the water service I want to attend tomorrow.
Oh yeah, summer vacation at our church is finally over! Tomorrow is the first service of the season, and it's a particularly nice one called the Water Service. Basically, it's a "What I did on my summer vacation" thing, which has the nice quality of reminding everyone who everyone else is, and generally creating a community feel again after so much time apart.
A "Welcome Home" thing.
I'm definitely looking forward to it, and I've even figured out what we're going to say. Whee! Now I just have to figure out what I'm going to wear.
And then, we come back home and lay the floor. And hopefully get the kitchen all laid out and ready for the new stove, which I've yet to order. Perhaps that will be tomorrow as well.
And now I need to go soak my hand in hot salt water to hopefully draw out the budding infection, take my last dose of benadryl for the evening and then go to bed. Hopefully I'll sleep better than last night so that I'll be nice and rested for tomorrow. :-)
