Progress. Visible, tactile and veritable progress.
First, this is being written and posted from the desktop. Geoff managed to get the computer in (mostly) working order! Finding a sound driver that will work with windows 2000 might be a bit of a challenge, but, hell, I can wait on the youtube. I'm just glad to have internet again!
Second, the entryway is tiled! Not grouted, that's the job for Tuesday morning, but the backerboard went in, the tiles got cut and they are now waiting for the mortar to dry enough to step on them! Whee!!!! It's not the world's most awesome job of tiling ever, but, oh! It looks sooooo much better!
Third, the boxes are gone! Yes, we still have obstructions in our throughway, but they're shrinking. And soon, possibly as soon as Saturday, the new, beautiful, intact sink base will be installed, as will the countertops and suddenly it will look like a real kitchen again! Oh, how I'm looking forward to that day.
In the meantime, I still need to paint. And finish the shelves. And paint. And paint. And grout (blergh). And paint. And, yeah, paint some more. I'm hoping that someday this week I will actually be able to devote a few hours to artistic painting, but... Actually, no buts are allowed. I need to do some artistic painting. I just hope I have the energy.
And now I should go take down the kitchen light fixture to prepare for ceiling painting on the morrow. I don't know whether I dread the grouting or the ceiling painting more, but both will need to be done sooner rather than later.
Gosh. It's so good to be back. Hopefully I'll soon have enough time to actually comment on your journals instead of just reading them.
:-)
