Bummer

Well, Babe is officially sick. I took him into the doctor today because the cough he's had for two or three days took a turn for the worse, and, well, he doesn't have strep or bronchitis or anything (thank goodness!) but he does have an ear infection. So he is on his first ever dose of antibiotics, the poor kid.

I find it funny that although I could rationally come up with many causes for the cough (paint fumes being the main one, but a cold being very probable, too), and knew that it was probably going to be a wasted visit, I chose to take him in anyway. Instinct? Coincidence? Paranoia? *shrug* Who knows.

As heartless as it sounds, I'm actually kind of glad Babe is sick, because that means I have to slow down and care for him. And even though I need to do it for myself as well, it's nice to have him as an excuse. It takes the guilt away.

Though I still hope to get some cutting done today anyway. I would really like to get the trim on the display cabinet installed and the back of the island cabinets paneled up. But that will be after Babe wakes up from his nap. After all, he needs his sleep.

Sorry to hear that Babe is ill - but Mummy instinct is seldom wrong. Better to get there early. *hugs*

Yeah, it is a bummer, but at least he's now on the mend. Is #2 better yet? *hugs Dicky and offers shoulder massage*

#2 is still exhausted, but she ate something this lunch time, and doesn't have a fever now. Huge sigh of relief!

Shoulder massage gratefully received, thank you!

Oh dearest... I hate it when my kids are sick. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Love Sonia :)

Yeah, it's the pits! Especially when you know there is nothing you can do for them to make them feel better.

Fortunately, he's already getting better. Thanks for the good vibes!

Indeed. But I'm sure he'll be better in no time. And at least he's in good spirits. :-)

Thanks. Fortunately, he is feeling better, although his appetite hasn't yet returned. He even turned down the offer of Wendy's! But I expect tomorrow will bring with it an appetite. :-)

I'm not one who's going to condemn you because you use that excuse to slow down. I have the feeling I would just do the same ;)

It's too easy to get on an unsustainable pace and drive yourself into the ground, I find.

How's it going with Miriam, btw? Is she hale and hearty? Is she pleased to have the casts off? And you? How are you coping?

Things are fine, she's adjusting really well to the splints. It only took less than 24 hours for her to get accustomed to the lack of casts. as for me, I think the most difficult is physiotherapy: Mariem detests that, she cries a lot during it, and I dislike the physiotherapist. If he weren't experienced with clubbed feet, I'd seriously consider changing, I don't get his humour at all.
