Left choir early today because I couldn't concentrate and didn't have the energy to sing on key and read the music at the same time.
I think the last two days have taken it all out of me. Yesterday was great - Geoff had to take a work trip to the Ecotarium in Worcester (
zalena, it used to be called the Worcester Lyceum of Natural History that Thoreau frequented) so we went with him - but very, very long. We got out of the building just before ten pm, three hours after Babe had started asking to go home. Four hours after our established time limit. The good side of yesterday was that Babe was finally feeling great, and the two of us got to spend the entire day playing. But, an entire day away from home is exhausting. And there was a lot of walking around involved. In fact, I think it's fair to say that 3/4 of the day was spent on my feet. Loooong day.
And then today. Today I had to do everything I haven't done in the last week or more: cleaning. I didn't actually get around to the laundry, but at least the living room doesn't look like a trash heap anymore. Heck, you can even see the paint tracks on the carpet now! Just as the day was ending, I was about to get around to finishing up the paneling (and ooooh, that's looking soooo good!) when it dawned on me that a) I wouldn't be able to do much in the ten minutes I had, and b) Geoff had the drill with him at work.
So, that's all a long and incoherent way of saying that I am getting closer to done, but am waaay behind schedule, especially where painting is concerned. I haven't looked at the forecast lately, but it's getting pretty chilly at night now, so... Time is running out. But I'm so close! But I need rest! But if I rest, this cold is going to catch up...
Anyway, I'm going to go have a nice hot shower. Hopefully it'll warm me up where the blankets haven't.

Date: 2008-10-16 12:51 pm (UTC)Awesome about the Ecotarium. I don't believe I ever went there with the boys. However, I did go to the Higgins Armory Museum, which Babe will be in a position to appreciate in a few years.

Date: 2008-10-16 02:29 pm (UTC)The Ecotarium is a pretty rinky-dink museum, but for its size, it's quite good. And it's a great place to take kids. Plus, they've got a polar bear.
I wonder when Babe will be ready for the Armory and forts and such. In about a year I suspect I will start dragging him along to all the places I want to go, like the Shaker communities, Robert Frost's and L.M. Alcott's houses and whatnot. There is so much to see around here!
