Americans, all I can say to you - and it doesn't matter who you are planning to vote for - is: fuck it.

Yeah, I know. I tend to vote for whichever candidate I think will do the least harm.

For the most part, that's what I do, too. This election is a little different in that I actually believe in Obama... which scares me in a myriad of ways. It's much safer feeling cynical and dismissive of people who hold such great power. It's far harder to be let down after hope has been raised (and power given). (Look at Beethoven and Napoleon!)

Not to mention the harm a popular president can do... *coughWcough*

I also fear for his safety... And whether the nation can withstand another assassination at this point.

*sigh*

At least the major political talk will be done with in less than a week. It'll be a relief.
