So last night I wrote the epilogue for SMHC. It's very short. It might not be complete, either, but it's a whole lot better than the long angsty scene I had plotted out years ago (and holy crap, it has been years, hasn't it?) and yet conveys all the same information.

And of course, when I finished that, I realized I needed to set up the scene properly, then realized I already had in my outline, which made me want to write that chapter (though I didn't; it was late and it's not the next chapter) and... Let's just say there's hope of SMHC being finished at some point. Perhaps this winter, even. After the remodeling is done.

On a rl note, Babe is finally cheerful again, and I don't think I've heard him cough yet today. Yay for the resilience of youth! Unfortunately, both Geoff and I are coming down with something. Too bad. We've work to do this weekend.

Oh and...

Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a heterosexual marriage/relationship (or if you think you might be someday), and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow.

IMO marriage, although often performed "in the eyes of God," is not a holy institution. It has always been a financial arrangement, and often still is. Gay marriage is not so much about being able to marry as it is a battle for equal rights. Some have forgotten that that is the real issue, but it is. I am sure that if civil unions granted the same exact rights as marriage "between a man and a woman," the majority of the gay community would be happy.
