Belated birthdays and stuff
Mar. 30th, 2006 09:37 amHappy belated birthday to my dad,
maebynot,
windypoint and anyone else whose birthday was the 26th! Sorry 'bout the delay, but I hope your birthdays were exactly what you wanted.
I've almost finished chapter 6, and I've a definite outline for the next chapter or two. Yay. I hope it works out.
I feel bad about finding humor at other people's expense. I really do. Especially Babe's.
I was giving him a bath the other day when I noticed the water level was fairly low, and it was a little too soapy for a good rinse, so I turned on the water. Babe was immediately interested and started playing with the faucet. He put his hand in the stream of water, then stood up and tried to push the knob in. He didn't manage to turn off the water, but he did make it rather cold for a moment before I fixed it. He then started playing with the spout.
Our shower control is on the spout. You have to pull a little knob at the end. Babe was still playing around with everything, then pulled the knob. The shower started and poor, poor Babe was so scared he actually was halfway out of the tub before I could do anything. I was in the way of his exodus, so he was stuck there, one leg in the tub, the other hanging out, screaming his head off.
Of course I did what any self respecting parent would do and took him out, shut off the water and cuddled him. I hope he wasn't offended that I was laughing so hard I was trying not to pee.
Poor Babe. I do feel bad for him, as he was so scared he was shaking, but it was so funny. If I had been the one to turn the shower on I wouldn't have found it funny at all, but...
The funniest thing was the speed at which he exited the tub. I didn't know his legs were long enough to get over the side. Normally, I don't think they are. It was like he was a cartoon character, he was moving so fast.
These are the moments that keep parents sane, right? That and the smiles that melt the heart. =)
