Nov. 21st, 2008 09:50 amI am of two minds as to what to do today. Yesterday I had planned to take today to start taking apart the living room, moving furniture and all that so that we can rip up the carpeting and finish that big flooring project.
However, last night D called and asked Geoff for help tomorrow, and I suspect that help will take a good chunk of the day, and probably most of his energy. Preparing the living room for the new floor really is a two day job. Two full days.
So.
Clear out the living room anyway, even though it will undoubtedly upset Babe something fierce, make me antsy for faster progress than is possible, or just be a slug.
And it's sluggy for the win!
I'm still holding out hope that we'll get the crown moulding up this weekend so that I can paint it before we leave for Thanksgiving on Wednesday. And, instead of doing the floor, I'll just have to tile the backplash. That is a full day's job that can be done on Sunday. And gosh, it'll be nice to get that finishing touch in. Not that it'll be finished. The grouting will have to wait until we get back from Thanksgiving. But once the grouting is done, I can finally take pictures and show you all what my new kitchen looks like! Whee!
And I guess that I can't really be a slug today. I should do some of the little things that need doing, like reinstalling that leg of door frame, installing the glass shelves in the display cabinet, start shimming the pantry shelves...
Ah well. It was a nice try, sluggy. Maybe next time.

Date: 2008-11-21 03:57 pm (UTC)I'd highly recommend painting the crown molding *before* putting it up though, and then just touching up a little after installation. It's much, much easier.

Yes and no. He can be so sweet, and then the fearsome four in him headbutts me. Literally. That our screams at me. Training the little monsters into people is hard, discouraging work.
It's been well received. I've actually sold one of the prints, which is cool. People seem really impressed with my photo manipulation skillz, which I find pretty funny, seeing as I'm a rank amateur and I feel it's something that anyone can do. It's like cheating at art. *shrug* But I'm glad they like it.
