Babe is still fast asleep. At some point he got himself into his bed (he's been sleeping on the floor, the odd child.) and is lying there snoring.

At least I know he's still alive.

In other news, the ice storm last night has left us with very pretty, if weighed down, trees. I wish the sun would come out and illuminate the ice to brilliance, but as it stands, it's still pretty.

It's actually not that cold out. By the time we woke up at 8:30, all the streets had melted. Now it's about 36 F (which is what, 2 C?), so it's actually almost pleasant. In a New England winter type of way.

You must still have electricity. Yes?

Yes. One of the benefits of living so close to a major hospital. :-)

Hey, how come your trees aren't touching the ground? All the birch out back are bent over completely and neighbors have lost whole tree limbs. Sun's out now, yay.

Because they're maples, not birches. :-D Also we seem to be in a rain shadow of sorts. We never get as much of the bad weather that you (or Boston) gets. *shrug*

You have snow!
100 miles from where I live it looks like that:

source: www.kleinezeitung.at

There they had more than 1 m snow in 24 hours, whereas where I live it has only rained, and rained and ...
Everything is muddy and murky and totally unpleasant.

That's what I'm hoping for for the night before Christmas. Or the 23rd. Or 22nd. Just so's it's white for Christmas and Boxing Day.

It's been raining and muddy and murky here for the past three days. It is totally unpleasant, I agree.
