Dec. 20th, 2008 10:30 pmHad a really busy and productive day today. Yay! Babe now has a twin bed, which he actually had a nap in, the futon is recovered and is so far staying in place in the basement and the living room is arranged comfortably. That took the longest, though thanks to sliders, it took the least effort.
But the results! The rug that's been on top of the chest in my bedroom is now on the living room floor, reminding me why I chose it in the first place. And freeing up access to the chest (which has the duvet in it).
Babe's bed is put together, complete with bedskirt, and combined with his car and truck quilt, it's perfect.
The basement... OMG! We have an organized bookshelf again! I can find my books! I can find my movies! I can't see the junk piled high behind the futon! It's wonderful! (Now I just have to take on the task of organizing the closet and workshop... again.)
I gave up on finishing the shelves anytime soon, but I cleared them off and stocked them, so I now have a working, organized (alphabetically) pantry! With display areas! And now I can easily see what I need to stock up on (peanut butter and pureed tomatoes are the most obvious omissions of the stock).
Tomorrow I will take pictures of all the wonderfulness and share them with you. :-)
Still a lot to do, of course. Scads of laundry still to do (oh yeah, did three and two half loads today as well! Go me!), every room except the living room needs some major attention, especially the bathrooms, presents must be bought, menus and shopping lists created, cookies baked (OMG! Running out of time! Must. Bake. Tomorrow!), most of which requires food shopping, and the paneling would be good to do, too.
And Monday, the presents must go out. They'll be late, of course, but oh well. I can always blame it on the ice storm. ;-)
