Baby it's coooold ouuuutsiiiiide!
Jan. 16th, 2009 12:28 amMinus five at the moment. That's Farenheit. Minus 21 centigrade. Now, I know that's nothing compared to those of you out in the midwest. I bow down to your deep-freezingness, but, you know, considering the furnace has to come on every hour to maintain the evening inside temperature of sixty-five degrees, I'd say it's note-worthy.
It's been a long day, although it started out really nicely. First, Babe slept in. And when he woke up, he came downstairs, and stated very sweetly that he was a big boy and was going to use the potty.
HALLELUJAH!
And then he was a sweetheart for most of the day, even though I spent the majority of the day cleaning. However, I did get an awful lot of cleaning done. Not only that, but I also got the living room set to rights, including finishing up the table to cover the a/c unit (pictures will be taken tomorrow, I promise). And I got art up. And laundry done. And my bed made. And a trip to the allergist and to the chiropractor.
And then the knitting ladies came over. :-)
The only downside was that about half an hour before the knitting girls were due to arrive, Babe said, "Uh-oh, I'm a baby again."
The bright side of it was that I dealt with him in the proscribed manner... calm, collected and encouraging. And I was even patient for the first half-hour of bathroom negotiations.
Too bad he wasn't having any of that.
Ach well. At least all of the knitting ladies are mothers, so they all know what I'm dealing with. And then Geoff got home to babysit and I didn't have to deal with it at all.
Oh, and the knitting ladies all praised my bread. Wheeee!
So, anyway, besides that and a very, very tasty grilled cheese and spaghetti sauce sandwich on my yummy homemade bread, nothing noteworthy happened today. Besides it being the coldest day yet this winter, that is.
