My little guy's sick. He's been sniffly, coughy and testy all day. Then he had a nap, which didn't help his cough or, it seems, his tummy, though it did put him in a better mood.
On the plus side, it means I don't have to set the alarm for tomorrow morning. On the down side... my little guy is sick. :-(
I was utterly and completely drained when I finally got home from church. The rehearsal went quite well, and my piece was well received (though I do need to practice slowing down and making sure I don't drop the ends of the sentences). I think it's going to be a great service, actually. But I am drained. I was only speaking to five very supportive and respectful people, but even so, I was shaking so much I needed to sit down immediately after. However, I was told I didn't come across as nervous, so that's one good thing.
Of course, it didn't help that the rehearsal came after a rather disastrous day for the choir. We were continually flat on the difficult piece, and we even messed up the easy piece. It was embarrassing. The kids sang WAAAAY better than we did. They sounded awesome. Granted, they had three months of practice while we had one week, but...
Anyway, it was just a draining day. Geoff picked me up at 2, we came home, I shoveled the remains of the ice off the driveway (salt is a wonderful thing. I don't care how hard it is on plants, it's wonderful), came in, had lunch and crashed for three hours.
And now I am off to bed, because I'm still exhausted. Hopefully tomorrow I will wake up refreshed enough to do what needs to be done.
