Weird dreams
Feb. 10th, 2009 06:19 pmLast night my dream was titled "Perspective" and it was mostly about the time traveler's paradox. Near the end, a younger... or older... a smaller version of one of our team saw us and tried to kill us by breaking the ledge we were standing on, sending us down, down, down the enormous shaft our employers had created over the years.
The interesting thing about the dream was that as we traveled through time, every time we came close to getting to our current time, more people were involved. At one point, it was obvious that just about the entire population of our country, or maybe only the entire military, was part of the project.
The dream ended when we got back to our time, and although one person recognized us (although I was surprised to see him in charge of our program) we were not in the program's records of having ever been in the program. In fact, we had traveled ourselves completely out of existence, almost as if we had used up our allotted time, and that was that.
This afternoon's dream (Babe let me have a nap... wasn't that sweet?), was similar in that it was like a movie, but otherwise, it was completely different. It was about putting on a stage version of a horror story (centering on Lucius reviving Voldemort), and, basically, having it be true. There were horror movie cliches everywhere, but at least I was aware of them. I kept checking the doors and windows to make sure they were all closed and locked before night fell, but knowing it wasn't going to make any difference. Voldemort would be rising that night, and we would be his victims.
The guy who played Lucius was really, really good. He was one scary, smarmy dude. (He made it completely believable that he was perfectly okay with marrying off his one-year-old daughter without a second thought to the daughter's safety. In fact, knowing that the daughter was probably not going to survive. Scary, smarmy dude. Though admittedly good looking. For a blond.)
