It's late, my judgment is probably impaired, but I'm going to post this here anyway.
Inspired by the 'Lily' challenge (and the 'one is not like the other' challenge) at grangersnape100, but it wouldn't work for points there. In the morning I shall review and see if I still like it.
Three Lilies
I.
White with innocence, the petals arch
opening, spreading
tempting a hand
A heart
A life
But for him, it remains perfect
Ideal
His touch stains it orange
II.
The graceful, exotic lines draw him in
Curling around his senses
Until he, too, is spotted
Marked
The trumpet call of fame and fortune
Withers quickly
The stain remains
Drowning, he pulls
Pulls himself up
Up toward the light
III.
The petals curve protectively inward, entrancing him
He dares not touch
Both are too delicate
But as the bloom unfurls, letting him see inside
He knows
This is no star
This is his sun
