Looking for a story

There was a bitingly funny S/H story involving a time-turner and how you CANNOT change the present by going into the past. It involved Hermione and school age Snape arguing for the entire time she was in the past, and her presence in his secret room being the reason Snape went to spy for Dumbledore.

Any one know what fic that is?

(Although, really, I just want to know the term... Law of Chrono... what?)

I don't know the fic, but according to Star Trek lore, it's the Law of Chronodynamics.

Do you happen to know what the three laws are? I'm trying to find it, but it just keeps referring me to the story that originated it (which I don't have access to right now).

I didn't remember on my own, but after Googling "Laws of Chronodynamics," these look kind of familiar. Don't take it on my authority alone, because it's been years since I've read any Trek novels or fics.

First Law
"Past, present and future are relative to the observer."

Second Law
"Time travel multiplies the traveler, not the event, which remains eternal and immutable."

Third Law
"Cause must precede effect, though it may not appear to do so to the stationary observer."

I think I know the one you mean. Unfortunately, I think it was by PoeMom, and afaik, she has pulled her fics from the net. :-(
