You are The Empress
Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.
The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents,
beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home
decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.
The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.
What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.
What bill do you hate paying the most?
I don't pay the bills anymore. Geoff does.
Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
... Ya Mama's, a now defunct Italian restaurant, for our fifth anniversary. (My god, is that really the last time? eeks.)
What do you really want to be doing right now?
Watching a movie that isn't suitable for Babe.
How many colleges did you attend?
One-quarter.
Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
The shirt went well with the long stripey over-shirt for this morning. The sweatshirt... cause it's warm and available.
What are your thoughts on gas prices?
*sigh* Keeping them at this level would be nice.
First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
No alarm, but when I looked at the clock while Babe was doing his Potty Panic, I misread the time as 9:51, rather than 5:51, and I wondered why I was so very, very tired.
Last thought before going to sleep last night?
Maybe I shouldn't have watched Galaxy Quest right before bed as now I'm all hyped up. (...zzzz)
Do you miss being a child?
Parts. I don't like having to deal with money in a real sense, but I wouldn't give up the rights of being an adult for that.
What errand/chore do you despise?
Bathrooms. Whether it's the scuzzy toilet, the scuzzy sink, the scuzzy tub or the scuzzy floor, whenever I clean them, I wonder why I am the one cleaning them.
Get up early or sleep in?
Sleeeeeeep in.
Have you found real love yet?
What a silly question. I found "real love" when I was born.
Favorite lunch meat?
Roast beef, as long as I didn't cook the roast.
What do you get every time you go into Wal-Mart?
I boycott Wal-Mart.
Beach or lake?
Beach.
Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
Yes and no. I think as an institution in the Western world it is basically outdated, in that girls and women are no longer property to transfer from father to husband. However, the emotional security that comes from the public pact is very real and can never be outdated.
Sopranos or Desperate Housewives?
Never seen Sopranos, so I'll go with DH.
What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
I dunno. Maybe Sandra Bullock? Jason Isaacs also looks like he'd be a blast. *shrug*
Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
Yes.
Ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?
Not me, personally.
Ring tone?
No cell.
Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
I like Dicky's answer: "My teeth are generally in my mouth, which I believe is the normal place to find them. At least, before the age of 70."
Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go?
San Francisco.
Do you go to church?
Yes. I even went this morning! (Though it wore me out completely.)
At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?
Career.
How old are you?
30
Do you have a go to person?
Geoff, I s'pose.
Are you where you want to be in life?
Not even close.
Growing up, what were your favorite cartoons?
X-men! Batman! Gargoyles! Darkwing Duck!
What about you do you think has changed the most?
My patience level has increased (scary thought) and I'm a lot more tolerant.
Looking back at high school[,] were they the best years of your life?
Not even.
Are there times you still feel like a kid?
Yes.
Did you ever own troll dolls?
No, but my sister did, so I got to play with the ugly buggers.
Did you have a pager?
No.
Where was the hang out spot when you were a teenager?
The Hill, probably. My friends and I hung out at each other's houses when we weren't mobile.
Were you the type of kid you would want your children to hang out with?
Yes.
Who do you think impacted your life the most?
To quote Dicky again: Let's re-phrase that question into English, shall we? "Who do you think had the greatest impact on your life?"
my family (mum, dad, sister and brother), though Geoff is a close second.
Was there a teacher or authority figure that stood out for you?
Stood out how? I had a bastard of a high school math teacher who I managed to impress despite the fact I was a girl (I later found out he really was a miserable bastard; his wife and child had been killed in an accident a few years before. He has since remarried and retired.) One of my high school English teachers because she dropped a book I loaned her in the bath and never apologized or even admitted it. My third grade teacher because she was the first young and absolutely lovely (in all senses of the word) teacher I'd had... So yeah, quite a few, in various ways.
Do you tell stories that start with “when I was your age”?
Sometimes. Usually when talking with Babe.
no subject
Date: 2009-04-21 04:07 am (UTC)I can barely remember being Babes age.
