Fortunately...

This weekend was nice, if exhausting. Saturday we got a lot done, then Sunday we went to church. I had forgotten to iron my skirt Saturday evening, and so Sunday morning, I tried for a minute or two, but the creases weren't coming out, so I gave up and wore the strapless dress to church. With a white sweater top over it, of course.
Everyone loved my hat, most of them thinking that I'd dug it out of a trunk somewhere. Soem thought I'd made it, though, and were impressed when I told them that Geoff's sister made it for me. :-)
After we got home, I euthanized the azalea shrub. :-( It was not looking good, and, well, what with out moisture problem in the basement seeming to be caused by the shrub's location... It wasn't the cause, as it turned out, but it might as well have been. It seems that our concrete needs to be resealed. It's flaking away at the moment. Not good. Not good at all. So, I guess that's next weekend's project for us.
Anyway, after I'd pulled that up, we went out to look at and buy the bike from one of the ads I'd responded to. It's nowhere near as good as my (former?) bike, but it's good enough. And it has good shocks, unlike my bike! (And super grabby brakes, but they'll ease off soon enough.) Oh, and it was in new condition. Never been ridden. Yay!
So we managed to fit it in the trunk, and later in the day, we went for a family ride! Whee! Poor Geoff, though, was pretty much out of it. He had a fairly bad allergy attack the entire day (despite lots of drugs). It was slightly unfortunate that Babe also cried the entire way home (both from being tired and being in potty distress mode), but it was good, anyway.
Then I went out into the garden while Geoff had a nap and Babe played on the computer. When I came in (I had to stake the irises... and my goodness, they'll be blooming soon! Insanely early!), Geoff suggested we go out to Wendy's for mother's day dinner. Fortunately, he was (mostly) joking. I countered that he make cheese, spinach and onion crepes. He jumped on that and, after an hour or two, made some really tasty crepes! Those that weren't completely crunchy, that is. ;-)
And... then I went to bed leaving Geoff to clean up. Which he sorta did... But since he was suffering, I'll cut him some slack.
Overall, a nice day, though I'm a bit stiff. As long as I keep moving, I don't notice I'm in pain. The drive back from picking up the bike was interesting because I felt like I was getting numerous mild electric shocks in one spot in my back. Real zappy and tingly like - not painful, just disconcertingly uncomfortable.
I should probably go back to the chiropractor. :-/
Anyway, I think I'm done with spewing words now. I should go find the receipt for the smaller Athena dress so I can return it. Though maybe (since I have the time before car pool), I'll first take pictures of the larger one. :-)
Happy belated Mother's Day to all of you moms! *hugs*
