Good thing one: Grade 3 maple syrup. A full litre of it. Now at home with Geoff. =) (Grade 3, for those who might not know, is a darker maple syrup than what you usually find in a store. Grade A (Canadian equivalent being Grade 1) is the palest stuff and is the closest to being flavorless. The darker you get, a) the less processing there is so b) the more flavor there is.)

A full litre! YUM!!!!

Good thing two: "Air Knob" A short film (8 mins) I saw on Air Canada's entertainment venue (my god! If only I could travel Air Canada everywhere! Go to their website and look, just LOOK at all the movies, shows and whatnot they have available in every seat of every flight. With a few exceptions, of course.)

Back to "Air Knob"... It isn't available for viewing on the web yet, seeing as it's relatively new, but, OMG is it funny! A bit rude, but oh so hilarious! The trailer shows the first minute or so and gives a good idea of what it's all about.

Good thing three: Steak. God how I love it. Especially when it is a perfect medium rare. *wipes drool from chin* My dad is the supreme steak cook in all the kingdom. He rocks.

Good thing four: That's not to dismiss or demean my mum's cooking, because that probably deserves to be in the top spot. It is... beyond words. For the first time in seven years, I have actually gone up a size. For someone who has to fight to maintain weight, that says it all.

YUM!

Good thing five: "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Opera" Another Canadian short, though this one is pretty old. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find it online yet, but I know it's out there. That might not be the exact title, but it's... well, everything you need to know about opera, condensed into ten minutes of Gilliam-esque animation. It's a classic.

The mixed blessing is that we are pretty sure that Babe has "the knack". With us as parents, it will be extremely difficult to counter the social problems he will face.

(And please, those of you who are facing real problems with your children, know that I mean no offense! I do not in one iota of my mind minimize the struggles you and your children face. You are better and stronger mothers than I!)

But now I need to go to bed. It's four am in NH...

I am so screwed, jet-lagwise.

:-P

Ahhhhh...*drools, eyes catatonically fixed on an undetermined point*...grade 3 syrup....ahhhhhhhh. Lucky!

I take it you've been somewhere in the passport-requiring country to our north? I guess I joined the party late, or missed something important! Whay've yah bin? Ah yoo from up thayuh? (Got to get you back into NH speech patterns, or you won't be able to communicate with your neighbors ;-)

I LOL'ed at 'the knack'--I think that's really cool, actually. As I always tell my high school/college age nieces, forget the football quarterbacks. Nerds shall inherit and run the earth!

Welcome back--hope you adjust soon, and tell us of your travels!

Sounds like you had a great visit!

(Medium rare steak perfectly cooked may well be the food of the gods.)
