More bits of randomness

I am phlemboyant, even if it is only in my head. My throat is suffering, poor thing, thanks to the cough that produces, but never ends. I wish I could be confident that the sinuses would clear up with enough water, instead of water seemingly just fueling the process.
I was awake before five this morning. That is wrong on SO many levels. (Damn nap. I know I needed it, but...) I am now getting sleepy, but it is now time for me to start my day. We'll see how that goes.
To Do:
laundry: fold and wash and dry and fold and wash and dry and...
dishes: put away, reload, start. Important step, that last one.
clean air filter - vacuum?
take it easy
go through Babe's clothes for size
clean brush
October was a crappy month. A really crappy month. I'm hoping that November will be better. One worry is already dealt with, in that we have a place to eat Thanksgiving dinner. We can't afford to go up to the Lodge this year (which is a major bummer), but for the first time, the Church is holding a dinner there for members who want to come or have nowhere else to go. So... food, friends and, yes, even football! Our Social Events committee rocks!
I've cleaned/restored six out of the seven 'ruined' brushes I'd all but given up on with only one casualty so far. I'm not sure how good a condition the brush was in before being saturated with hardened oil, so I'm considering this endeavor a huge success! As soon as the last brush is cleaned *goes to add that to the to do list* I may feel like I can take up my oils again. Maybe. When the weather permits the doors and windows to be open and the painting stored outside till dry.
Babe's birthday weekend was nice, although we bought way too much food for the 'party.' It turned out that only M&M came, as the others were beset by germs. Bad time of year for that. But, you know? I'm glad. It was a mellow day (not a mellow morning, though) which was just what all of us needed. The only thing I wish had been different was knowing whether or not one family was coming. If I had known they weren't going to show, the morning wouldn't have been nearly so stressful. :P
I started reading through our insurance information and gave it up as a bad job. Ours is a non-profit insurance company. I have no idea how much the CEO makes (that isn't counted as profit, you know), but... It's ridiculous. I read an article yesterday on Medical Tourism being a growing industry. Americans without health insurance (or underinsured) are traveling the world to get (usually) better care for far, far less. Including airfare, hotels, meals, etc. Quite a boon for South American countries, actually. Using our stooooOOpid economics against us for their profit!
This current health bill is better than nothing, but it's only a patch. The whole system needs to be reworked, and this bill ain't gonna do that. This compromise is the Treaty of Versailles and nothing more.
But now I need to go for a walk, so I'll leave off the rambling.
