Ooookay. Tomorrow is baking day! I've promised three pies to a friend from church, and three pies I will deliver on Wednesday.
So...
Make pie crusts tomorrow morning
make pumpkin pie filling afterward
then the custard for apple custard
make wheat-free cookies for Babe and me
then toward evening, prepare apples for the apple custard pie and bake
Wednesday morning, assemble and bake pumpkin pie
prepare and bake apple pie.
Oh crud. Need to find out what kind of apple pie she wants. Double crust? Crumble top? phooey.
To get tonight:
aluminum pie pans
1 lb flour
tapioca
eggs
And then, I guess I need to find out how much stuff I should take to Thanksgiving dinner, and if there'll be a place to cook it at church, or if I'll need to just make it at home. Also, need to decide whether I'm going gluten/wheat free or not. If I am, then I need to make sure there's enough veggies to tide me over. As it is, I'm going to have to forgo the mashers... :-(
Oh, who am I kidding? I'm going to pig out and damn the consequences. Taters are still in question, but I am going to eat what there is, darn it. And be extremely thankful for it. Except for green bean casserole. Cuz that's just nasty.
Anyway, I need to go take care of my baking cupboard, whose contents are strewn over the countertop. Before the kid gets into the redhots.
