Poor Babe has the croup. He started coughing in his sleep last night, then woke up crying an hour or so later. He was so tired and just wanted to go back to sleep, but he was so upset because of the cough and pain... It hurts to see little ones suffer.

Sick child or no, I have a busy day ahead of me.

To do:
trim toenails (yes, I need to list this else I'll forget)
laundry - clothes, blankets, sheets
fridge
make white comfort food (cauliflower, parsnips, turnips and garlic)
and maybe soup (celery, rutabega, cabbage, carrots, mustard greens...)

I guess I'll get started now. I wish there was some way of convincing Babe to poop without resorting to the vaseline threat... I'd like that to be dealt with before doing the laundry.

Church this spring is going to be interesting. I've given up choir to help teach 3-4th grade RE ('religious' education).

The new semester starts next week, but I spent yesterday observing the group. I think it'll be good. I had hoped to help with older kids, like 5th, 6th or 7th grades, but meeting this group reassures me that these are people. They're high energy, but they can read, write and reason. And since I'm only co-teaching, it'll be fine.

The really funny thing about this is that Geoff is very possibly going to replace me in choir. Hee! Geoff's singing leaves a fair amount to be desired, but recently we discovered that if he drops an octave (or two), he can stay in tune! I think this is so very cool. He's still pretty much tone-deaf, but music is something he genuinely loves, though he'll downplay its importance because of the kind of music likes. Yes, some of his tastes are questionable (Hawkwind, for example) but that doesn't make it less important! So, if he can go to choir and learn to sing (Choir Director isn't the best teacher, but his methods should suit Geoff very well), I think it would really enrich Geoff's life and sense of self.

And on another church note, a choir mate, the Director and I are starting a prayer group! We're meeting next Thursday to set up a format before we open it up to everyone. We need to be clear so that when we open it up, people know that this is a group for praying, not discussing prayer (UUs being what they are...).

Anyway. That's what's up. Exciting and scary and, hopefully, good. All except for Babe being sick and refusing to poop, that is. That's not good. But otherwise...

Happy February. May it be better than January!

Good luck with the RE class, and I hope Babe gets better soon. *hugs*

LOL. All the albums and concert attendance and everything? *shakes head*

Thanks, I'll probably need it. And, thank goodness, all his napping yesterday seems to have put Babe on the fast track back to health. Yay!

I know it's a bit much to expect, but I hope you can get equal amount of rest to speed you back to health!

*hugs you*
