Jun. 10th, 2006 12:14 pmThe two songs running through my head at the moment are:
I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la ...
and
Oh, it's raining again
Oh no, my love's at an end.
Oh no, it's raining again
and you know it's hard to pretend.
Oh no, it's raining again
Too bad I'm losing a friend.
Oh no, it's raining again
Oh, will my heart never mend.
There's a theme there if you look hard enough, and no, it's nothing to do with emotions.
It's been raining so long and so hard, I'm starting to wonder if we should be building an ark or something. The swamp behind our house is now big enough to attract ducks.
Ducks!
Of course, I know what caused this. The A/C units are talismen against the heat. As soon as they were put in, the weather chilled and the storm clouds gathered, and the flooding rain came back.
Truth be told, I'd much rather it be rainy and chilly than hot and icky, although having to bring out the duvet seems just a tad ridiculous in June. I suppose I could turn the heat on, but that also seems a little ludicrous.
So, here I am in my winter hoody, warm socks and a fuzzy blanket. I wish my toasty slippers hadn't fallen apart...
Speaking of rain, If you haven't already heard, here's one of those weird stories that might be interesting to follow as more information becomes available. High flying bats! *snort*
Otherwise, Happy birthday to plaidpooka! May your muse be generous and constant!
Have a good weekend, all!
