So, at some point soon, I will have to replace two pairs of shoes. My runners (HA! as if I actually run!) are getting on for ten years old, and they look it, while my black, casual, slip-on loafers are at least four years old and definitely look it. They were cheap buys and have lasted a lot longer than I thought they would considering how cheap they were.
So, today after acupuncture, I went snoop shopping at LL Bean. Found a nice comfy pair of clogs that were half a size too big, but comfy nonetheless. Then, just for kicks, I tried on a pair of lime green clogs that were on the shelf.
Yeah, those are not LL Bean shoes. And they were so comfy! Wicked comfy, ya'll! (And wicked expensive where they're actually for sale. *sighs*)
But anyway, I looked the brand up and found these.
*wantz*
However, the price tag is a bit much, especially since I need a pair of good trainers, and those aren't cheap. (My mum raised me to spend money on good mattresses and good shoes to save our bad backs.)
And I don't technically need another pair of boots. But the clogs...
No.
It's clogs or camera repair.
Damn. Really, it's shoes or camera repair.
Fuck. *sniffles and pets camera*
Being a grown-up sucks sometimes.
Ach well.

Date: 2010-05-14 11:31 pm (UTC)I know they just had a bunch of El Naturalista's on their daily special. I got on their email list - they have daily deals that are only good for the one day, then the prices go back up. It's Zappo's outlet store (and therefore also owned by Amazon.)
But if you keep checking, you may well be able to eventually get them for 80% or more off. They still have a bunch of their clogs, but right now they are 60% off MSR (So around $ 60). I know when they were on daily special, they were only right around $ 30.
I get almost all our shoes there. If it's a brand you know or can try on somewhere else, it works great. Unless Zappo's you pay shipping (6.95 flat fee, no matter how many shoes you order) and if you want to return it, you have to pay return shipping. So I wouldn't get an unfamiliar brand. But if it's a brand you know, you get great deals!

Date: 2010-05-15 01:28 am (UTC)I'll have to take a day - maybe Sunday? - and go actual shoe shopping. Urgh. But the el naturas aren't gonna show up in any of the stores I could shop at (for fitting purposes)... Boo.
