And people think this is a free country...
(IMO, matching public funds is a fiscally stupid idea in the reality of billionaires, but there needs to be strict limits on how much any candidate can spend, whether it's private or public funds used. Preferably public. That would a) level the playing field so that all classes have a chance ofruling serving; b) eliminate the special interests digging in their claws from the get go; and c) show how capable a candidate is of spending sensibly and strategically.)
I mowed half the lawn yesterday before giving up. My arm and shoulder hurt like the dickens today, so obviously I didn't give up in time.
I am fighting - oh am I fighting - the urge to have some hot chocolate. I need to go out and get myself some dairy free chocolate, as it isn't the cocoa itself I've banned, but the milk that makes hot chocolate yummy.
Or I could just have a medicinal margarita... Oh yeah, there's sugar in that. How about a shot of tequila, then? *whimpers*
Sue Sylvester's herpes metaphor in the last episode of Glee was mind-staggeringly good. I'm starting to really enjoy that show. It is SO camp! (Btw, is there a "bad boy Jew" stereotype? Everyone else is a stereotype...)
Geoff's time at work is increasing rapidly as the Conference of Doom (TM) approaches. It's actually a bit of a relief that work is getting busy, because that means I don't have to feel guilty for taking myself and Babe away to Canada for a couple weeks. True, this might end up being the busy week, and Geoff will be all by his lonesome with nothing to occupy him while we're actually gone (HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!), but I'm sure he'll cope if that's the case.
I'm really, really looking forward to the vacation. All this low-level pain has been kicking my butt the last few weeks, and I'm done. I still have a lot to do to prepare for the trip, but it's now so much closer. That means it's work time!
