Crazy bunny

averygoodun42So, I was watching P&P last night (BBC version. Yes, all of it. What?) and came up with another crazy bunny prompt.
Mrs. Elizabeth Collins becomes a widow when Lydia elopes with Wickham.
So... The gist would be that Lizzy accepts Mr. Collins' offer. She goes to Huntsford and is the parson's wife with all the parson's wife's duties. She goes to Rosings relatively often and meets Mr. Darcy and Col. Fitzwilliam there over Easter. He would like to ignore her (she's a married woman, after all), but is still captivated by her fine eyes. She is just grateful to have someone with sense to talk to (Fitz and gradually Darcy).
Darcy (who has more free time than Fitz) finds his way to Rosings more often, giving Elizabeth more time to get to know him, and, of course, erm, appreciate him.
But, she's a married woman. With the same disagreeable circumstances as before, with the exception of having her father's estate not entailed away. Which is not enough to make up for her silly mother and sisters. And a very silly husband.
She's on her way to becomingDorothy Parker a very bitter shrew when Lydia saves the day by eloping with Wickham, causing Mr. Collins a heart attack from sheer indignity. And that, after a proper year of 'mourning' (and adventures finding Lydia and Wickham), leaves her free to be romanced by Mr. Darcy.
I haven't figured out how Elizabeth marrying Collins would affect Jane's future. Or how to find and force Wickham to marry Lydia, for that matter. But who cares about such details when crackfic!bunny chomps?

Date: 2010-06-13 10:13 pm (UTC)Wicky gets Lydia pregnant while still courting Miss King in Meryton, while Darcy is still at Rosings. Collins has his heart attack, Lady Catherine tells Darcy all the news and she wants to immediately evict the widow Collins. Darcy rides to Meryton to force the marriage, lets Jane use his carriage to go to Kent and pick up Lizzy (and help her pack).
