An astonishing amount of my youth's fond memories involve watching him light up the screen.

Thanks for the introduction to comedy, Mr. Nielsen. You made it look ridiculously easy.

I loved him in Airplane, and in the Naked Gun movies. Those have been sort of ruined for me, because of the presence in them of O J Simpson. :( Oh, and I adored the silly Police Squad shows!

I fell in love with both him and Walter Pidgeon in Forbidden Planet, and then I found him again on Due South. ♥♥♥ I'm glad I learned now instead of a few hours ago ... I just bid Phil good night and would have been in tears (like I am now) when he got here.
