The book I am currently reading: "Black Sheep" by G. Heyer. And the occasional snippet of "Messages: The Communications Skill Book," because it's my (currently favored) bathroom book.

The book I am currently writing: loooooong past-due exchange fic for Ayerf (which is separate from the TPP fic I owe you, btw). I'm still hoping it's not shit. And that you'll like it. And I'm still not sure of either. *wibbles*)

The book I love to read the most: Depends on my mood and energy level. Sick days - "Another Fine Myth," and the like, PoA, "Anne of Green Gables" and other LM Montgomery books, and, if it's around, "Little Women." Non-sick days: P&P, "Great Expectations" (after the first 150 pages), brain books (i.e. about the brain and/or training it).

The last book I received as a Gift: "To Say Nothing of the Dog" and "Bellweather." Neither of which I've read beyond the excellent first chapters. Yet. Bad me.

The last book I gave as a gift: "The Arrival" by Shaun Tan. It is a book I wish I could afford to give to everyone I know.

The nearest book to me: I won't take out a ruler to measure which is closer, but both "Tarot: Mirror of the Soul" by Gerd Ziegler and "Breaking the Vicious Cycle" by Elaine Gottschall are on the desk in front of me. However, "Tarot" came up with me from my foray downstairs to find my comfort books, so perhaps it shouldn't count.

In other news, I took a really long nap today while the boys were out, and I think it helped tremendously. I was one grumpy mother this morning.

I think it will also help the mood of this house that Page lost his second tooth this evening. That will make eating a lot more comfortable for him!

And Geoff managed to find his missing cell phone! I am very surprised, actually. But, surprisingly, pleased.

Book I'm currently reading: Neal Bascomb's The New Cool and Balzac's Cousin Bette.

Books I'm currently reviewing: aforementioned Neal Bascomb. The Dark Game by Paul B. Janeczko and Shaun Tan's Lost and Found.

Book I love to read the most: Honestly, I have so little time for re-reading and it depends on the mood. I talked a lot about Moomins this week, so I'll give that as my answer.

Last gift book I received:Only Forward by Michael Marshall Smith a very trippy early nineties s/f novel.

Last gift book I gave: Amy Ignatow's Popularity Papers Part II

Book nearest to me: I have six books by my left foot and four books on my right. My left foot is currently touching Spinning Straw into Gold by Joan Gould.

Oooh! Remind me which exchange fic prompt was... I had no idea you have two fics in the works for me at the moment! I'm sure it won't be shit, and that I'll love it!

Very true that what books you want to read depend on mood/energy - some books are harder work than others.

For this, though I'm not telling which prompt: http://community.livejournal.com/sshg_exchange/97933.html?style=mine&thread=3744397#t3744397

I had got a fair way into the fic before I realized there was no way I was going to get it done on time, so I switched to art. I think the part I wrote then is okay, but what I've written since is... meh. A lot of revision will have to take place once I actually finish the beast.

If I'm really under the weather, books won't do at all. The act of reading takes too much energy. As does thinking, which even basic reading requires. TV is the answer then!

Oooh! Very intriguing! I wonder which it is...

I know the meh feeling, but knowing your writing I'm sure it won't be remotely meh when I read it.

For me it depends on the book. Although if I'm feeling too unwell I can't read anything either then.
