Taxation fixation

I LOLed.
I'm all for a flat tax... IF there's a lower limit which is excluded. 10% of $20,000 is a hell of a lot more than 10% of $200,000 when actually living within those bounds and not just looking at figures on a sheet.
Raise the poverty line to a realistic number and exclude them from taxation, and then, sure, lets adopt a flat tax.
I personally don't think it's the answer, though, however much the tax code needs to be overhauled. And really, I think that we need a total overhaul of the voting system before we can even try to fix the tax code, because it's pointless to try to do anything that will be in the interests of ALL with our democracy as broken as it currently is.
