Sweaty, spice induced randomness

I made an approximation of vindaloo last night. I only added half the peppers called for, and it's still rather too hot. Poor Geoff wasn't able to finish his portion.
I'm starting to think it's possible those ground peppers are made from the ultra-nasty Thai peppers. Seriously hot stuff. *wipes brow and nose*
Ach well, it's a good way to get lots of water in me, right?
I liked the words of the sermon today, which was a Buddhist-influenced take on the resurrection. When the minister puts up the written version of it, I'll post a link or snip and paste here. I will not, however, link to the audio recording as the delivery was... um, sub-par, even for this minister. (I really don't like his oration style. Reeeeeaaaally don't.)
On the plus side, I dipped my toes back into the choral water and sang in the "greater" choir this morning, which is something this director put together (I think) to include more of the congregation in the choir. Lots of people sing and would like to be in the choir, but don't have the time or energy to commit to weekly rehearsals. So He chooses one or two songs that are pretty easy and can be sung decently after one morning rehearsal. I was too late to sing both the songs, but I was able to sing one, at least. ("In Praise of Springtime")
Maybe (ha!) I'll be able to get to this week's rehearsal, even if I won't be there to sing on Sunday because I'll be at Aeternitas!
I am now, after indulging in some anxiety-induced emails, actively trying to relax and let things just happen where the conference is involved. I am backing off before I make my roommate regret rooming with me even before we share sleeping space. (I'm usually pretty laid back, honest I am!) I hope things come to rights, but if they don't, they don't. Worst comes to worst, I'll try to sell you all HP doodles-to-order to raise cash. Or just eat it manfully.
I am very tired. My allergies are starting to make themselves known, and I really should be getting very, very strict with my diet. Should be. And I will be, as well, AFTER the conference. To start the intro diet now would just be setting myself up for failure, though, and I'm trying to get out of self-defeating habits. That's what this diet is about, after all.
I'm also somewhat frustrated because the weather is not cooperating with my garden plans. It was a cold, wet, miserable day here yesterday, and although it was good that it was cold, wet and miserable out because I was able to nap without remorse, I really would have preferred going out and collecting more rocks. Especially because today is a no-go due to the holiday.
Today, of course, is beautiful and dry. The only beautiful, dry day for the rest of the week.
*harrumphs*
Ah well. At least I should be able to get the rest of the rocks we do have placed, and maybe some of ground broken up, too. We'll see how much energy I have to spare.
Speaking of my garden, however, I am rather astonished to see that my brussel sprouts from last year are starting to grow! I had left the stalks in place, and noticed when the snow melted that the top leaves had retained a rather unusual amount of greenness through the winter. Well, when I was doing the garden bed clean-up, I looked a bit closer and saw that sprouts are starting to form! It's possible I won't actually get sprouts but a bunch of small leaves, but, hey, they're edible and nommy, too!
And I think I got a bit carried away with planting fever. It occurs to me that I've already used up 3/4 of my garden beds' space and I still have at least four more packets of seeds waiting for the warmer weather... Oops. Ah well. At least the lettuce beds will be available around when the weather warms up.
And I guess I should start thinking up a pre-con to do list. I really should. And I will.
Just not right now.
