First, thank you all for the sympathy. I took your advice and feel a lot better now. Of course, now I have to try to go to sleep again and I'm not really sleepy, but I'm sure the drugs will kick in soon.
Second... I saw a headline on msn about a photo of a nursing baby causing an uproar. The article has a copy of the photo. Gotta say, in my mind, as long as I see it as a breast, it's a beautiful picture. (The baby is properly latched on, so there isn't even any areola is visible.) There are a lot more disturbing interpretations of that photo than what they're objecting to, so why, WHY do people object so much to the sight of breasts?
The breast is MORE THAN A SEXUAL OBJECT, PEOPLE!!!! Men can bare their nipples and that's not sexual (though possibly drool-worthy), but women can't do the same because men happen to find breasts sexually appealing? Come on! How backwards is that thinking?
Besides which, if you object for religious reasons, one could make a case for nudity being the goal of mankind, seeing as (in Judeo-Christian lore) Adam and Eve didn't see anything wrong with loitering about the Garden of Eden in the buff until they took a bite of that fruit. That's the whole Catholic original sin thing, isn't it?
So, take away original sin, and voila! We can roam around nude again because we're back in communion with God, right?
Not that I'm going to be baring all, mind you. I may be a closet exhibitionist, but I'm staying in that closet. Besides, I'm not a Catholic.
