1. You have to reduce your paint/drawing color palette to black, white, and two other colors. Forever. What two do you choose?
Ow! Harsh. However, it would probably be prussian blue and lemon yellow. Though I'm waffling on the yellow... might choose crimson instead... hmmm... Purples or greens... Yellow.
2. Your fairy godmother can wave her wand once to allow you to again eat something (without any negative health effects, of course) you've had to give up - what do you choose?
Grains. More specific? I guess rice, for the practicality, versatility and variety.
3. Padma or Parvati? Padma.
4. You have been given $100,000.00 but only have three days to spend it all - what do you do?
Pay off our debt by EBT and use the rest to pay down the mortgage (again, using EBT). Prosaic, yes, but that would make life so much easier! We'd be able to go to movies again. Hire babysitters! Invest in our future!
5. Name a skill you don't have that you wish you did.
I'd say discipline, except I know very well that I can develop that if I so choose. So probably small talk, and the art of putting people at ease.

1. When did you first think, "Yeah. I'm an artist."
Hmm. Well, I started referring to my stuff as "my work" in 10th grade, but I've rebelled against the idea of being an artist ever since. I only just accepted the fact a couple years ago, really. So, I'll say May 1, 2011.
2. When creating, do you have a kind of "go to" music you listen to, do you like to shake it up, or do you prefer no sound/nature?
It depends on the piece. I did a couple of fire paintings for my dad years ago, and found that Garbage (esp. v.2.0) was perfect for it. I cranked it up and attacked the canvas. However, Garbage isn't exactly suitable for the more reflective and subtler moods my art's taken. So no, I don't have a "go to" music at the moment. But I do like to listen to music or talk while I paint. After the initial stages, anyway.
3. If you could choose when you were born, would it be a time different than now? (Humor me.)
Sure. 100 years from now. It could be horrible, post-apocalyptic, hard-scrabble living, or it could be a saner version of what we've got now. I'd like to imagine it as saner, personally. ;-)
4. Favorite movie?
Oh, hell. I don't know! When I was sixteen I would have answered (with a huge blush) that it was Disney's Little Mermaid, but, yeah, not so much anymore. Rewatching The Lord of the Rings trilogy reminded me what an awesome achievement that was, and how much I enjoy that story, but favorite? No.
Probably the "movie" I've watched the most is the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice. Does that count? If not, I think I'll have to go with The Dark Knight, because, well, yeah. Christopher Nolan, Batman, the creepiest Joker ever to be portrayed... It's an awesome film, let alone comic book movie. (But then there's Bride and Prejudice...)
UHF.
5. Have you found an o-fic to write that really excites you yet?
Yes. Unfortunately, it looks like it's been written for me and then filmed. That's what I get for procrastinating. :-/

This surprises me about you for some reason.
re: labeling yourself as an artist - it was strange for you too. it seems odd to say such a thing to me as well. it is nice once you accept it though, huh? :)
Also, I totally knew you were going to say the future, lol
re: o-fic - aw damnit!! that sucks. :(

Date: 2011-06-17 03:00 pm (UTC)It's kinda nice... An artist's life is a mixed blessing. I love the creativity and the spark I get from that, but... it seems to invite angst.
Well, who wouldn't say the future? I wouldn't want to go back before the sexual revolution and I like the modern conveniences too much to be born much earlier than I was!
Yeah, it does suck, but I'll probably write it anyway. I doubt the focus of theirs will be the same as mine.
