But you know the reaction to this will be calls to either charge the prisoners for every penny they've cost or to drop their health care altogether. Because that's the kind of country this is.

Not a new story. His was really dramatic, but considering the people I deal with every day, it is not a new story, especially when the weather is extreme for people to do something stupid to get put in jail for a few weeks. Food, a roof, temperature controls and health coverage.

Oh, I know it's not. Janet Evanovich used it as one of the lesser reoccurring gags in the Stephanie Plum series. (Some bounties are easier to pick up than others.)

It's very sad, though, that going to prison is a better option for a lot of people. Actually, no, it's not sad, it's horrid.
