grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrowl

I was going to have a mixed blessings post, but this week is turning out to be too shitty to make even snide attempts at gratitude. There is a lot I am grateful for, but... yeah.
- Page's bike and helmet went missing on Friday morning. We've narrowed down the time they went missing to the hour and a half between 8:15 and 9:45, which kind of indicates it might be a kid who borrowed them, but they haven't been returned yet, which kinda indicates otherwise. Also, what kid would borrow a helmet, too?
On the one hand, this is a good "take care of your things!" lesson for Page, but on the other hand, it means he doesn't have a bike, which is a form of exercise he likes!
The thought that it might have been taken saddens me on a deep level. Who would steal a kid's bike?
- Geoff is away for another week. Yes, I knew it was coming, but... I'm majorly bumming this time. Probably because...
- I'm PMSing. That on top of the week of sleepiness means that the drugs probably aren't working as well as they should be. Which means a visit to the drug doctor will be called for. However, I'll give it another few weeks, see if things even out.
- Just found out that the Pell Grants aren't going to be awarded until October. Payment for this semester is due tomorrow. I suppose this means a trip into the financial aid office will be required tomorrow, as well as a call from Geoff, with his credit cards.
And I can't remember my student email password. And there's no hints or any other kind of way to access. Boo.
- My leg is getting worse. Sciatica exercises make it worse. Much worse. I have an appointment with my rheumy this week, so I will regale her with my suspicions, but that will mean bloodwork, which is expensive. Ach well.
I'll also have to find out if it's possible this leg thing could be related to the meningitis. Geoff said he's noticed one of my eyes is slower than the other nowadays, noticeably so when I'm tired. He can't say for sure, but he thinks that it's a post-meningal thing.
Related, my allergies have been bugging me since we got back. I realized belatedly that ragweed season is upon us. Oh. Frabjous. Day. I've started taking claretin for the time being, even if it is off my diet (lactose), because my stomach doesn't tolerate vitamin C anymore. le sigh.
On the good side, because this is such a whingy post:
+ I've had fresh flowers in the house this week, thanks to my CSA. Including a gladiola! This coming week, I will cut them more carefully and actually get around to photographing them, as was my intention last week. *rolls eyes at self* Still, it's been nice, even if it probably is aggravating my allergies a bit.
+ I got my hair cut on Friday! It's now short and easy and cute! And because of it's shortness, I got head-scritches from Geoff as we watched tv last night! (I've missed the head-scritches.) I also got a brow wax, which makes me look much less Neanderthallish.

Helena Bonham Carter, eat your heart out! This is MY bedhead! And crazy look. (An unfortunate family trait. We all look rather insane in photos.)

Better, oui?
+ I found out that the foil cupcake cups work better than the paper ones (when brushed with oil), meaning that my packet of 48 liners has become a packet of 96! Also, the zucchini muffins are a huge hit all around. Yay! (Which reminds me, need to harvest the bigger of the zucchinis.)
+ Geoff did laundry.
+ I was not late in one of the credit card payments. I had an entire hour to spare!
+ I've cut out the pieces for T's quilt block. I plan to break out the sewing machine tomorrow.
+ Our front tree IS being taken down! Wheeeeeeee! Of course, this means I probably won't be able to plant anything till next spring, because it's getting pretty late in the season (and nothing's been done yet), but that gives me time to save up for plants. Wheeeeeeeee!
+ I was able to get outside and weed this morning, despite my leg. And, having the knowledge that the front yard will be a sun garden, I now can plan out where all my ferns and astilbe are going to go in the back! I have quite a bit of work ahead of me in the next few weeks before school starts, seeing as I have to dig out and prepare the rest of the garden.
Because this day is feeling pretty shitty so far, I think I will spend more of it out in the garden. It's a lovely day for it (until it starts raining), what with the mild weather and cloud cover, and I need a dose of green lovin'. A big dose.
